Ronald "Duck" L. Lester

Ronald “Duck” L. Lester, 73, of Rockford passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born November 22, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Everett and Isabelle (Einhorn) Lester. Ronald worked for Broadway Florist. He was a member of St. James Parish. Ronald was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed bus trips to casinos. Ronald liked dancing and making people laugh. He was the life of the party. Ronald also enjoyed fishing with his brother, Ken.
Survived by his siblings, Kenneth Lester, Gloria Dermer, Adabelle Scarpitto and Phil (Kathy) Manni; brother-in-law, Charles Brackett, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his best friend and dog, Sammy. Predeceased by his parents, sister, Patricia Brackett, step father, Loreto Manni, sister-in-law, Sylvia Lester and brothers-in-law, Robert Scarpitto and Mike Dermer.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
