Romuald “Ron” Z. Keller, 68, Rockford, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, in his home. Born February 4, 1948, in Heilbronn, Germany the son of Konstantin Keller and Evgenya (Manczak) Keller. The family moved to the United States in 1950. Ron was a graduate of East high School, class of 1968.
Ron was a partner with his brother Al at Keller Auto Body. He also worked part time at Rockford University as an Event Coordinator and was most recently employed part time at UPS. Ron was an avid antique collector. He enjoyed attending car shows with his family. He was an outdoorsman who liked to hunt and fish. The beauty of his garden brought him great joy.
Ron is survived by his siblings, Ala Keller (Ron Peterson) Gahlbeck, Rockford, Walter W. Keller, Cedar Key, FL, and Alexander “Al” (Bonnie) Keller of Rockford; nephews, Alan (Julie) Keller-Gahlbeck and Walter W. Keller II; nieces, Lorinda (Donald) Gahlbeck-Sahlstrom, Veronica (Bill) VanOaker, Felicia (Peter) Varo, Elizabeth “Lisa” (Ben) Keller-Melton; great-nephews, David Gahlbeck, Dustin Gahlbeck, Nolan James Gahlbeck, Spencer Keller and Will Keller; great-nieces, Logan Varo, Nicholete Varo and Emily Varo; step niece, Lana Aronofosky and step great-nephew Martin Aronofosky; very special friend Cindy McKellips. Predeceased by his mother and father and great-nephew, Ethan Keller-Gahlbeck.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00 am Monday, October 3, 2016.
