Rollin C. Beckwith

Rollin C. Beckwith of Rockford passed away Thursday September 19, 2013 in Amberwood. He was born May 20, 1925 in Shullsburg, WI. The son of Charles and Nellie Beckwith. Rollin came here in 1955. He married Joan "Jody" V. Foht on November 16, 1948 in St. Patrick Church in Benton, WI... Jody predeceased him on August 24, 2005. Rollin worked for Barber Coleman for 13 years and then for Rockford Clutch for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Member of Cathedral of St. Peter, 3rd Degree Mason and Cub Scout Master at Walker School. He loved Fishing, crossword puzzles, traveling and volunteering at church. He loved to watch and feed birds.
Survivors include his two sons Charles Beckwith of Rockford and Bruce (Janet) Beckwith of Machesney Park. Grandchildren, Ronald Beckwith and Jill (Bill) Thompson, Great granddaughter Radia Lynne Thompson. Predeceased by his parents, wife Jody and Sister Berenice Crook.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Wednesday September 25, 2013 in the Cathedral of St Peter, Rockford. Visitation from 10am until 10:45am Wednesday in the church. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers memorial to be established. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
