Roger R. Heaslip

Roger Ramon “Rog” Heaslip, 90, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2022, at Anam Memory Care in Rockford, IL.

He was born August 23, 1932, in Rockford, Illinois to Larry and Alberta Heaslip of Rockford. Roger lived in Rockford his entire life and attended St. Thomas Catholic School. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after a long career. In earlier years he was an active and competitive sportsman at fishing, golfing, and handball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Heaslip and Richard Heaslip and his loving wife, La Doris (Dorey). He is survived by his sister, Ann De Santi, and 7 children: Jim (Pam) Heaslip, Bob Heaslip, Chris (Darryl) Littleton, Brian (Polly) Heaslip, Tom (Mary) Heaslip, Mark Heaslip, and Greg (Teri) Heaslip. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 10 am until time of service at 11 am located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Burial will conclude in Willwood Burial Park, immediately following the service.
