Roger D. Crown, 61, of Loves Park, passed away from this life on June 12, 2012.nbsp; Born July 6, 1950 in Clay City, ILto A.J. Crown and Martha (Miller) Thomas.nbsp; He was a graduate of Guilford High School and attended Harding University in Searcy, AR.nbsp; From the moment he saw her at a very young age, he knew he was going to marry her and so, on June 19, 1971, Roger married the love of his life, Colleen (Powell) Crown, of Rockford.nbsp; Roger and Colleen were blesssed with their beautiful daughter, Meegan Crown, who has always been Daddys little girl.nbsp; Throughout his life, he worked at Northwestern Railroad as a conductor, Plastics, Tuxedo World and Material Handling Services for 14 years as a safety director.nbsp; He enjoyed playing cards with friends, bingo, softball games, and being a Chicago Cubs fan.nbsp; He served as a board member for several years at Rockford Christian Camp.nbsp; As a member of North Park Church of Christ, he had been an elder and enjoyed teaching Bible study, sharing fellowship, and listening to the beautiful singing.nbsp; He will be dearly missed and was truly loved by all, always having a story to give, a joke to tell or a piece of wisdom to share.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Colleen (Powell) Crown; daughter Meegan Crown of Houston, TX; mother, Martha (Miller) and Horace Thomas of Shabbona, IL; halfbrothers Jeff Crown and Brian Crown of Rockford; halfsister, Cindy Crown; many other loved ones and close friends.nbsp; Predeceased by his father, A.J. Crown.
