Roberta Ann Schnorr, 74, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. She was born on July 26, 1941 in Rockford, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Samson) Stanfel. On December 19, 1959, she married the love of her life, James Schnorr in Rockford. The two remained inseparable until James’ passing in 2002. Roberta’s love for music, specifically the organ and piano, was shared with her many students she taught over the years. She lived an active life, enjoying gardening, rollerblading, traveling and kayaking, first with her husband, and then with her dear friend and companion, Thomas Hoey. Roberta was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori Schnorr and Vicki Schnorr-Langy; her mother, Mary (Samson) Stanfel; her sisters, Susan (Claude Davis) Gillette, and Linda (Jim) Caciola; her grandchildren, Kim Langy, Brandon Bailey, and Brian Bailey; great grandson, Isaac Bailey; Brother In-law, Billie Steiner; Sisters In-law, Becky Stanfel and Evelyn Schnorr; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Jim, father, Charles, brother, Richard, sister, Sheryl, nephew, Louie, and In-laws, Fritz, Norma, Merrill Schnorr, and mother in-law, Norma Steiner.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until time of service. Burial Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials to the family appreciated to be determined at a later date.
