Robert D. "Bob" Flemming Robert D. "Bob" Flemming, 68, of Cherry Valley, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Bob was born July 11, 1939 in Belvidere the son of Robert J. and Ruby (Downing) Flemming. He married Janice "Jan" Versetti on May 30, 1968 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park. Bob graduated from Belvidere High School in 1958 and attended Northern Illinois University for two years. He had served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the SM & SF Club, the American Lombardi Society and a delegate for the Association of Clubs. Bob loved golfing, fishing, gardening, the outdoors and warm weather, and was a model train collector, a huge Cubs fan and cherished spending time with his grandson Drew Robert, who was the apple of his eye. Bob is survived by his wife Jan; his children, Tanya (Timothy) Kregul and Christopher Flemming; his grandson, Drew Robert Kregul; his sister, Roberta Turner; his mother-in-law Jeanne Highstreet; his brother-in-law John (Vicki) Versetti; his two sisters-in-law, Kay (Pat) Haller and Julie (Bill) Nichols and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his father-in-law John Versetti and his brother James Flemming. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Fr. Matthew T. Rudden officiating followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
