Robert C. Loney

Robert Bob C. Loney, 85, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007 in his home. Born October 30, 1921 the son of Robert and Betty Kietch Loney. Married Eileen Jennemann on April 23, 1960 in St. Louis, MO. Bob worked as a production controller for Chrysler Corporation for many years until his retirement in 1980. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, and as a Carlson Marine Raider at Midway, Guadalcanal, Bougainville and the Occupation of Japan. He was a member of Holy Family and an active member of the OSF Fitness Program. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; son, Patrick (Debbie) Loney, Cleveland, OH; brother, Marion Loney, nbsp;Henderson, KY; sons-in-law, Jon Varner, Minneapolis, MN; and Christopher Rockers, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: James and Andrew Varner; Erica, Matthew, and Charles Loney; William, Abigail, Ellen, Jackson, Joseph and Anna Rockers; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughters, Donna Varner and Judith Rockers; parents, Robert and Betty; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4407 Highcrest Rd., with Reverend Andrew Hougan officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church and also on Wednesday from 10AM until time of service. Burial will be private.
