Robert (Bob) F. Mancuso, 88, formerly of Rockford, Illinois passed away on January 2, 2023, peacefully.
Bob was born June 13, 1934, the fourth born to Joseph and Lena Mancuso. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Anne E. Mancuso; his second born son, Rick Mancuso, (when he was only 20 years old); sister, Phyllis Mirwald; brothers, James V. Mancuso and Dewey J. Mancuso.
Bob married his grade school sweetheart, Anne E. Mancuso. They were married 70 years. Bob was a devout Catholic, filled with Love, Kindness, Compassion and Charity.
Bob and Anne have lived in Florida for the past 34 years. They were an inseparable couple that enjoyed and cherished each other's companionship each and every day.
Bob was an active member of the Jaycees in the 1960's and 70's and was recognized for creating "Project Concern”; an effort to bring aide to the poor in the Mississippi Delta in 1967. What began as a local initiative, increased to a National Campaign. Bob was soon thereafter listed in Marquis Who's Who In America.
Bob was President of Mancuso Development Corporation and Mancuso Investment Corporation, better known as, Morristown and the Roundup Tavern near New Milford, Illinois.
Bob is survived by 4 children, 3 son's and 1 daughter; Bob and (Linda) Mancuso of Rockford, IL, Joe and (Mike) Mancuso of Milwaukee, WI, Chris and (Renee) Mancuso of Machesney Park, IL and Mary and (Dan) Paris of Delray Beach, FL and 14 grandchildren and great 14 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th Street, Rockford, IL 61109. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 at the church. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
