Robert "Bob" E. Putnam

Robert “Bob” E. Putnam, 64, of Cherry Valley, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born September 16, 1953 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Richard and Dolores (Jordan) Putnam. Bob worked for many years in manufacturing as an engineer and an engineering manager; he belonged to the SME and ASTM. He had a passion for country music and was involved with RAMI. Bob was a religious man with a deep faith. He was a hardworking, compassionate man. Most of all, Bob will be forever remembered as a loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.
Survived by his children, Jessica (Ben) Johnson and Steven (Jennifer) Putnam; grandchildren, Zachary, Lillian and Evelyn; brothers, Brett (Susan) Putnam and Bart (Julie) Putnam; nieces and nephews; Christopher, Jonathan, Sara, Pammi, Hannah, Richie and Thaddeus; special great niece, Punkis Aeris, and his best friend Dan Pitney. Predeceased by his parents; brother, William and sister, Brenda.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr., Rockford, IL 61109. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108 and again Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be determined at a later date.
