Robert A. Pfluger D.D.S.

Robert A. Pfluger D.D.S., 82, of Rockford, IL met the Lord passed peacefully on January 26, 2017. He was born February 5, 1934 in Rockford, IL. Son of Eugene and Cecilia (Volmer) Pfluger. “Dr. Bob” married Elaine “Legs” Labunski and happily shared 60 years of marriage. He lived in Rockford all his life and practiced dentistry for 40 years. His steadfast faith made him a much loved parishioner at St. James and St. Patrick’s Catholic churches. His love for family, woodworking, gardening, and the pursuit of justice will live on forever.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister Florence Haugh, brother Richard Pfluger, son Mark Pfluger, and son in-law William Elliott. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine Pfluger, Sister Virginia Pfluger, sister in-law Geri Pfluger; children, Dave (Elizabeth), Dan (Dawn), Tom (Daniele), Deb (Scott), Barb (Bill), Diane (Mike), John (Dawn); 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St., Rockford. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road and will continue at church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
