Richard Terranova

July 9, 1942 — August 20, 2017

Richard “Rick” Terranova, 75, of Loves Park, died Sunday, August 20, 2017, in his home, following a long battle with cancer. Born July 9, 1942, the son of Sam and Jenny (Arbisi) Terranova. Rick attended both Auburn and West High Schools. Retired member of the U.S. Army. Rick was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Rick enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He was a member of the St. Ambrogio Society in South Rockford. Rick loved animals, especially his cats, Porsche and Lexi.
Richard is survived by his son, Marc (Luz) Terranova of Chicago; brother, Louis (Karen) Terranvoa of Tuscon, AZ; niece, Tanya Terranova; nephew, Christopher Foltz and many other relatives. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Terri Terranova and his son Christopher Terranova.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford, IL with the Franciscan Friars. Burial, immediately following Mass, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, with a Rosary at 7:45 p.m. A visitation will also be held on the day of the Mass from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
