Richard T. Degroff

Richard T. DeGroff, 59, unexpectedly passed away on February 7, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida. Born in Rockford, Illinois on February 5, 1964, son to Hugh and Linda (Freedlund) DeGroff. In 2005 he met Lori, and they wed October 12, 2018, in Destin, Florida. He was employed for over thirty years at Cintas as a Route Sales Representative. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing with friends, watching the White Sox, Bears and the Bulls. He and Lori enjoyed many vacations all over the world but especially down to the ocean on the Emerald Coast, He also enjoyed boating and making memories with his family.

He is survived by those who loved him most, his wife Lori; their children Jeremy DeGroff, Wade (Penny) Huff and Zack (Christine Cassinger) Huff; grandchildren Gavin, Aubrey, Isaiahs, Kaylee, Naomi and Leo; his mother Linda; sisters Cheri (Bill) Farnam and Michelle (Jim Lafray) Mattingly; nieces April and Angie, nephew Jacob. He is predeceased by his father, Hugh, and his niece Nicole.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
