Richard H. "Dick" Adcock

Richard H. “Dick” Adcock, 84, Rockford, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1934, in Decatur, the son of Harold and Russie (Jackson) Adcock. Dick married Myrt Dulaney in Decatur on September 5, 1954. He was a past member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He was a salesman for office furniture companies in the Rockford area. Dick loved music and was an accomplished drummer playing in the Dave Remington Quartet and played at the Inaugural Ball for President Richard Nixon. His favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and he had an extensive collection of Sinatra and other music. Dick was an avid reader, a loyal Illini fan, an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed golfing. He loved animals, especially his Irish Setter “Marnee.”
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Myrt; his children, Rick Adcock and Sue (Jeff) Schrieber, both of Rockford; his grandchildren, Danielle and Grace Schrieber; his sister, Barbara Hill of Decatur; and his special nephew, Jerry Dulaney. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Tuesday.
