Richard "Dick" A. Anderson

Richard “Dick” A. Anderson, 84, of Rockford, IL passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at OSF Hospital. He was born March 31, 1937, the son of Raymond and Anna (Swenson) Anderson. Richard worked as a machinist for many years retiring from Dial. Richard married Rosene Didier-Hoskins on February 15, 2003. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and a member of the SM&SF Club. Richard was a kind, thoughtful man with a strong work ethic. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him including the Harne family and many friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rosene; children, Rena (John) Dempsky and Perry (Tammy) Anderson; stepchildren, Jay (Sara) Hoskins, Jill (Robert) Hall, Jodie (Michael) Hancock, and Jeffrey Hoskins; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Carol Schick, Janice Anderson, Shirley Austin. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marilyn Harne; son, Tim Anderson; siblings, Mary Jan Hallman, Jack, Thomas and Charles Anderson.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:30 am at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. A walk through visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:30 am at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. Please wear masks and practice social distancing. Burial will be held after the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4620 20th Street.
