Richard Craig Rapp, 79, of Rockford passed away, Sunday, January 27, 2019. Born January 2, 1940 in Chicago. Richard served in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1960. Richard made his living and raised his family as a machinist. He spent his retirement years making custom knives and enjoying riding his Gold Wing motorcycle throughout the states. He was a proud member of the Chapter L Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Survived by his wife, Sharon Rapp; children, Daniel Rapp, Pat (Kathy) Rapp, Kathy (Greg) Cleckler, and Jeff Rapp; step child, Michelle (Robert) Climer; grandchildren, Timothy (Janice) Leamon, Jeremy Rapp, Christopher (Carley) Rapp, Carl Rapp, Alex Williams, Amanda (Jerimah) Busler, Kalynne Scott, John Scott, Ryan (Kristen) Carter, Justin (Karolanne) Carter, Katie Rapp, Devin Rapp, and Dylan Rapp; great grandchildren, Bailey Leamon and Laughlynn Leamon; step grandchild, Steven Climer. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt and Muriel Rapp, the love of his life, wife Erna Rapp, his son Mike Rapp, and grandson Anthony Williams.
