Richard C. Hurst

Richard C. Hurst, 72, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Richard was born, February 1, 1950, in Dekalb, Il the son of Charles C. Hurst and Mary M. (Talley) Hurst. Richard worked at various businesses throughout his life. He met his best friend and significant other, Marjorie Anderson, while living at the Faust Hotel. They have been together for 30 + years. Richard and Marjorie enjoyed going to Starlight Theater, parades, On the Waterfront and baseball games. Richard was an avid Cubs fan and loved watching them play. He was a friendly, outgoing man who never missed the opportunity to brighten someone’s day. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his beloved significant other, Marjorie Anderson; daughter, Mary Hurst; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Clifford Hurst, Jimmy Hurst, and Bobby Hurst.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Richard’s name to Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 550 S. Mulford Road Rockford, IL 61108. Inurnment in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation rites accorded.
