Rex L. Crowdes of Rockford died November 10, 2007. Born May 5, 1935 in Burlington Junction, MO to Frank and Lydia Crowdes: he was the youngest of thirteen children. Rex was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy from 1952-1956. Married Ruth Jogerst in Las Vegas, NV in 1956. He belonged to Sheet Metal Local 219 since 1961, retiring in 2000. Member of Collide-O-Scopes square dance club, American Legion 332 in Rockton and now an Organ Donor. Survivors include wife Ruth; daughters, LeeAnn Crowdes of Cherry Valley and Colleen Crowdes of Rockford; one beloved granddaughter, Sydney Crowdes of Rockford; brother, Monty; sister, Virginia both of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, 10 brothers and sisters and his nephew and best friend, Roland. Funeral services at 10:30 am, Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm in the Riverside Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to service. No flowers please.
