Renee A. Griffith

Renée A. Griffith, 80, of Rockford IL passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born on December 1, 1936 in Adel, IA, the daughter of Dwaine and Pearl (Glidden) Spillers. Renée met David D. Griffith Sr. in Des Moines, and the two married on August 10, 1957. She worked in the offices of John S Barnes, Sundstrand and Greenlee for many years making many friends. Renée loved camping, and animals held a special place in her heart. She was a member of the Baltic Lodge and part of the auxiliary club there, the Baltic Star. She loved the company of others, never missing an opportunity to make a new friend. Above all else, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Renée loved to dance.

She is survived by her children, David (Désirée) Griffith, Mindy Nanni, Trina (Dennis) Gendron, and Erin (Jason) DiFede; her grandchildren, Wesley Griffith, Jesse (Alexis) Griffith, Tara Griffith, Chelsea Nanni, Kyle Nanni, Zachary (Ashley) Smith, Austin Smith, Nicole (Steve) Johnson, Eric Gendron, John and Damian DiFede; her great grandchildren, Daniel and Payton; and many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Renée is predeceased by her husband, her parents, and sisters, Gloria and Floy.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
