Reed R Hackenmiller

Reed R. Hackenmiller, 71, of Rockford, died February 23, 2015 in Clearwater, FL from lung cancer. He was born on June 3, 1943 to Ray and Angela (Blaser) Hackenmiller in Austin, MN. He graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin, MN and St. Mary's College in Winona, MN, then he moved to Rockford, IL. He worked at Gunite Foundry (now Accuride) as a Cost Accountant for 38 years retiring in 2002. His biggest passion was golf,which took him to Clearwater, FL for winters to play. He was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Minnesota Vikings. He is survived by wife Sharon (Myer); children, Kristi Hackenmiller, Laura Clement (Tim Clark), Michael J. Spielman; grandsons, Gjourdan Hardy (Caroline Ramirez), Michael T. Spielman; great granddaughter, Passion Spielman; brothers, Stanley Hackenmiller (Virginia), Ray Hackenmiller; three nieces, one nephew, several grand nieces and nephews, and numerous friends in Rockford and Clearwater. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2015, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St., Rockford, IL, 61109. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108, and will continue on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:15 a.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
