Rebecca Eve Brown, 63, Rockford, died peacefully at home on Friday, surrounded by family after a valiant, six-year battle with ovarian cancer.nbsp; Becky is survived by her husband, Chuck, three daughters, Sudi (Bjornstad) Korba, Shana (Bjornstad) Robinson both of Schaumburg and Sadie (Bjornstad) LesStrang, Chicago and their husbands, Mark, Jack and Christian, respectively; six beautiful grandchildren, Austin (8), Danny (6), Allie (6), Brody (3), Aaron (1), Ella (1 father, Donald Glasgow, Huntley, and sister Sara Phillips (Steve), Crystal Lake.nbsp; Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Neilson Glasgow.
Becky lived life to the fullest.nbsp; She loved to shop, travel, take boat rides on the Rock River, cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers, and most of all spend time with her daughters and grandchildren.nbsp; Becky began her career as a teacher in the Harlem School District, however her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own advertising agency.nbsp; Becky was probably best known for her work with the Rockford Chamber of Commerce, where she was involved for over 32 years and earned a reputation for her outstanding sales skills, engaging personality and positive outlook.nbsp; Her community efforts included Rockford Womans Club, YWCA Board of Directors, and the Rockford Register Stars Rockford Woman Advisory Board.nbsp; She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 6 p.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School Road in Rockford.nbsp; The celebration of Beckys life will continue with a reception immediately following the service at Rockford Country Clubnbsp;at 7p.m. Becky had requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Lighting the Auburn Street Bridge and may be sent to the Becky Brown Memorial Fund, c/o Rockford Park District Foundation, 401 S.
