Raymond Moser

Raymond RayR. Moser, 87 of Rockford, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Oregon Living amp; Rehabilitation Center. Born July 3, 1925 in Dixon, the son of Guy E. and Emma (Fisher) Moser. Graduated from Fairdale High School Class of 1943, was drafted in the US Army, and served from 19461949 in WWII in the Philippines. While overseas, he met the love of his life, Lucila L. Macadangdang and married her on December 23, 1948. Ray worked for the US Post Office for 42 years as a postal clerk and a customer relations coordinator, retiring in 1995. While at the Post Office he was active in the American Postal Workers Union serving as an officer of the Rockford Charter 79 and as an Area VicePresident with APWU State Union. A member of St. Rita Catholic Church, a 3rd degree member of The Knights of Columbus Council 7624 at St. Ritas, YMCA Retired Mens Club and was a member and past president of the National Association of Federal Retirees. Ray was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching the games on his large screen TV. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and greatchildren as they grew up. Survivors include his children, Russ (Diane) Moser, Rosemary (Jim) Kittoe both of Rockford and Ruth Ann (Craig) Cameron of Colorado; grandchildren, David Moser, Kristie Moser (Stewart Bowman), Michael (Heather) Moser, Matthew Kittoe, Carri Copas, Lauren (Brad) Hopkins, Ian Cameron and Gareth Cameron; great grandchildren, Seferina Hopkins, Alexxis Kerry and Brian Kraklau; brother, Donald H. Moser of Oregon, IL and numerous nieces and nephews including special niece Connie Malueg. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucila; grandson Jason Kittoe; 3 sisters Gladys Maronde, Eva Lyman, Leona Gibson; 2 brothers, Guy Bus Moser Jr. and Daniel A. Moser, Uncle Harold C. (Pearl) Fisher, whom raised Ray from age 3, and aunt Mabel Fisher. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate and loving care of Ray. Funeral Mass Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Drive. Interment will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 122 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Christian Wake Service at 2 p.m. Visitation continues on Monday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, send memorials in his name to St. Rita Catholic Church and Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center.
