Raymond Mendoza

Raymond J. Mendoza, 74, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, after a brave fight with cancer. Ray was born in Gallup, NM. on November 29, 1937; the son of Raymond B. and Teresa (Giron) Mendoza. Ray came to Rockford in 1962, where he worked for W.A. Whitney as a director of international sales for over 28 years. He was a proud US Veteran serving in the Army Reserves. Ray will be forever remembered for his courage, positive attitude, humor, and strong will. He was devoted to his family, and was an amazing grandfather. Ray is survived by the love of his life, Carol Mendoza; daughters, Marcia Brandt and Paige Larrick; son, Andrew Mendoza; brother, John Mendoza; and grandchildren, Carson Larrick, Ian Brandt, Spencer Larrick, and Andy Mendoza; stepdaughter, Sherry Buisker. Predeceased by his parents and brother, David Mendoza.Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., followed by a luncheon. Visitation will be from 2:00 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
