Raymond F. Helm

Raymond F. Helm, 79, of Machesney Park, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 16, 1934, the son of Floyd and Emily (Bohn) Helm. Ray married Margaret "Peggy" Farrelly on June 25, 1955. They shared 40 years together until Peggy passed away in 1995. Ray worked in plating/painting for Woodward Governor until his retirement in 1996. He was a selfless man, always putting family first. Ray enjoyed fishing, bowling and cooking and always looked forward to eating a good meal. He enjoyed traveling and being among friends. He will be missed by all who loved him and those who knew him.

Ray is survived by his children, sons, Raymond (Barb) Helm, Kevin (Dee) Helm, Dwayne Helm and Chris Helm; daughters, Debbie (Felipe) Bautista and Sandra (Rick Peterson) Fuller; brothers, Roger Helm, Ronnie Helm and David Helm; sister, Norma Hamburg; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Peggy; brothers, Floyd, Carl, Lester, Woodrow and infant brother, Melvin; sisters, Loletta and Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church. To extend condolences visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
