Ray S. Donze, lifelong Rockford resident, died peacefully at 12: 15 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Swedish American Hospital.nbsp; He was the son of Salvadore and Michela Marino Donze.nbsp; An extraordinary, wise, kind, quiet and gentle man.nbsp; He loved life, family and friends.nbsp; He showed us what it means to love and to be loved.
He served in the US Air Force as a pilot and 1 st Lieutenant, graduated from ITT with a degree in engineering and retired from Sundstrand after a 30 year career.nbsp; He loved the arts, was an accomplished woodworker and builder, and excelled in all sports, proudly receiving a hole-in-one trophy for golf.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary and daughter Lisa; son-in-law Bennett Siegel; adoring grandchildren Nora and Lucas Ransick;nbsp; step-grandchildren Jolan, Gabrielle and Noah Evans-Siegel and sisters, Sarah Terrazino, Antoinette Lamia and many nieces and nephews.
