Ray Dean Shuller, 80, South Beloit passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Ray was born on December 23, 1934 in Gentry Arkansas, the son of Elbert R. and Ruth (Carl) Shuller. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Valley Forge. He was an educator in the Rockton School District teaching mathematics many years but may be remembered most as a painter, carpenter, electrician, tax advisor, and most importantly an avid fisherman and advocate for social justice. Ray was married for 50 years to his loving wife Julienne Shuller until her passing. He was later joined in marriage to Clarice Shuller. Ray was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit. He is survived by his children, son, Carl (Lisa) Shuller; daughters, Stacey (Chad) Nelson, Tina (David) Smith and Jennifer (David) Gomel; grandchildren, Allyson Smith, Alex Patil, Sydney Smith, Bethaney Nelson, Ashley Gomel, McKenna Nelson, Kyle Gomel, Joshua Smith and Seth Gomel; sister, Bethene Perry; sister- in- law, Charlotte Carter.
Mass of Christain Burial will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd. South Beloit, IL. Fr. Steven Sabo officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter, Rosecrance Foundation, St. Peter Catholic Church or the Food Pantry at St. Peter. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
