Born February 3, 1913 in Pecatonica, IL to Frank and Mary Carlson. Graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1931. Moved to Rockford in 1932 from Pecatonica. Married Linnea V. Carlson in Rockford, on May 18, 1940. Duffy was a tool and die maker at Rockford Molded Products for 43 years. Member of Salem Lutheran Church and Vasa Lodge. Avid Cubs, Bears and Tiger Woods fan. Loved spending time at the Stuga (Cabin) in Eagle River, WI. Duffy was of Swedish Heritage. Survivors: Daughter, Mary Ellen (Al) Pearson of St. Peter, MN; Son, Randy (Judy) Carlson of Rockford, IL; Grandchildren, Brett (Heather Flaherty) Pearson of Carlisle, PA, Sarah (Carlson) Ross Chiger of Grayslake, IL, Dan (Stefanie) Carlson, of Rockford and Josh Carlson of Rockford; Great-Granddaughter, Nora Rose Flaherty, of Carlisle PA., Sister-in-law Marge Pearce of South St. Paul, MN. Nieces and nephews Margo (Derrick) Durkee of Fredonia, WI, Rick (Lori) Pearce of South St. Paul, MN Beverly (Duane) Rakowska of Lena, Jo Lindquist of Pecatonica and Richard (Abby) Lindquist of Pecatonica.Predeceased by his parents, wife, Linnea (Lindy) Lundquist Carlson, Sister Helen Lindquist, brother in law Art Lindquist, Brother-in-law Rex Pearce and nephew Bob Lindquist."Dad, you were always there when we needed you. We already miss you but know that you are reunited with Mom. Tack sa mycket!" A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at Salem Lutheran Church 1629 S. 6 th Street with Rev. William Dahlberg officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel). Continuing from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at church. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
