Ramon E. Rios

Ramon E. Rios, 80, of Rockford, IL died on January 4, 2020 in his home. He was born on February 10, 1939 in Linares, Mexico to Nestor and Felipa (Espericueta) Rios. Married to Lydia Gonzales on February 20, 1959. Ramon was employed by Decorators Supply Corporation in Chicago, IL for 32 years. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Journeymen Plasters P & B Society Local 5, and AISIP. Ramon was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia; his children, Maria (Eduardo)Flores, Delia Rios, Ramon Rios Jr., Ernesto (Jeanne) Rios, and Daniel Rios; grandchildren, Lydia (Matthew) Lindsoe, Mario (Daniela) Jimenez, Jackie (Matthew) Legue, Sara (Leonel) Arroyo, Jorge (Margaret) Alejandre, Alex (Khristine) Alejandre, Lynette Araujo, William (Metzin) Rios, Nina Rios, Olivia Rios, Ricky Rios, and Angelica Rios; brother, Jesus Rios, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Norberto and Ernesto Rios.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 10th in St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory.
