Rae Anne T Oberg

Rae Anne T. Oberg, 76, of Rockford, passed away January 21, 2017 at Swedish American Hospital. Born March 1, 1940 in Rockford, the daughter of Raymond & Almeta (Rice) Callihan. Graduated West High school, class of 1958. She worked for Mercy Health Systems, formally Rockford Memorial Hospital, for over twenty five years as certified sterilizing process technician. Married Bruce Oberg in Rockford on December 4, 1989. She enjoyed bowling, roller skating, bird watching, traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially attending all her granddaughters dance competitions and grandsons Tae kwon do competitions. She was loved by many and will be truly missed.
Survivors include husband Bruce; daughter Robin (Steve) Schroeder; grandchildren Daniel & Sara Schroeder; brothers Chuck Tunkus, Michael (Melinda) Callihan, and Gregory (Patty) Grazioli, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; infant son Stephen Joseph; brother Bruce Callihan, and stepson Andy Oberg.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, with the Rev. Randy Young officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
