Radames Colon Laboy, 78, of Cherry Valley, passed away on March 19, 2022, with his wife, Linda Laboy, by his side, holding his hand. Born on November 22, 1943, in Maunabo, Puerto Rico to Rafael Colon and Francesca Laboy. Radames married Linda in Belvidere on August 12, 1980. Radames worked as a millwright at Chrysler for 35 years. After being a proud UAW member, he retired from Chrysler. For fun, he picked a job he’d always wanted to do: he drove an 18 wheeler for Swift. He loved to eat great food and had a strong work ethic. Radames was a handy man, he renovated a couple of basements, and also loved gardening. He loved taking family trips especially to Puerto Rico and Florida. Radames is survived by his loving wife Linda; his children Ramon, Roslyn, Carolyn, Inez, Eliza, Reynaldo, Francis, Christopher, and Alicia; numerous siblings, grandchildren; and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Radames Colon-Laboy Jr. Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will start at 12:00 p.m.
