Rachel K. Hofslien

Rachel K. Hofslien, 82, of Rockford passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Anam Glen. Born October 24, 1935, in Westby, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar E. and Signe C. (Hovde) Lovstad. Rachel grew up on a farm and loved to tell of her adventures. She married the love of her life, George D. Hoflsien on October 27, 1956 at Westby-Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. She had many artistic, crafty talents that included gardening, sewing, painting, writing and quilting. Rachel loved the outdoors and camping and her woodland critters. She was patriotic and had a strong will for her country and her Norwegian heritage. Rachel was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church; her faith was very important to her.
Survived by her children, Jan (John Garthwaite) Forsgren and Jill Hofslien; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Forsgren, Kristina (Brandin) Waters and Danielle (Austin) Todd; great-granddaughter, Joanna Forsgren; brother, Joel Lovstad; brothers-in-law, Roger Hofslien, David (Elaine) Hofslien and Danny (Judy) Hofslien; sister-in-law, Nancy Lovstad; numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends, Janet and Bob Nordstrom. Predeceased by her parents, husband, brother and in-laws.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 675 N. Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Milestone. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, assisted the family.
