Pyper Dawn Ballard

Pyper Dawn Ballard, 9, Rockford, accepted the hand of the Lord Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She was born August 20, 2005, in Rockford, the daughter of Dennis Ballard and Sheila Andrus. Pyper was so very special with a twinkle in her eye and a smile that could turn the worst of days around. Pyper attended Carlson Elementary School where she had many friends and many wonderful teachers. Pyper’s favorite colors were yellow, pink, and purple. She loved Tinkerbell, kitties, and SHOES! Although Pyper faced many challenges in life, she never let them hold her back. She was a rambunctious and very inquisitive young girl. She had much more to learn, but she had even more to teach. She showed others patience, perseverance, kindness, and most of all, love. Pyper will be deeply missed by all who know her and will leave a lasting impression in our hearts.
Survived by her mother, Sheila Andrus; her father, Dennis Ballard; her siblings, Dennis (Kathleen) Ballard, Daniel (Jessica) Ballard, Brandi Andrus, Tyler (Melissa) Andrus, and Shelbie Ballard; her niece and nephews, Emma, Landon, and Branson; numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including her special aunts, Dawn Finnan, Marie Hy and Diane Veitch. Predeceased by her grandmothers, Carol Larson and Darlene Ballard and her cousin David Ballard, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, with Pastor Chris Lee from Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
