Phyllis Mary Davy, 90, Rockford, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, in her home. She was born April 24, 1924, in Chicago, the daughter of Alfred and Genevieve (Busche) Schmidt. Phyllis was a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago. She married Edward Davy. He predeceased her in 1995. Phyllis worked as a Social Worker for Catholic Charites where she placed children in foster homes. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survived by her daughter, Julie Davy of Rockford; her grandchildren, Abbie Shepp, Amanda Shepp, Madeline Sparkman, Margaux Blackwell, Grant Germano, Max Davy, and Jay Germano; her sister, Joyce McClennon of Naperville, her brother, Peter (Bobbie) Schmidt of Georgia; her sisters-in-law, Arlene Schmidt and Bridgette Schmidt, both of Chicago; her sons-in-law, Jeremy Germano, Bill Shepp, and Pedro Fernandez; her nieces and nephews; and special friends, Odette Rice and the Jimenez family. Predeceased by her husband, Edward; her daughters, Pamela Sparkman and Maureen Germano; her brothers, William, Paul and Al Schmidt.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 27, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd., Rockford with Reverend David Beauvais officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
