Phyllis Kalmbach Baer, 83, of Pittsboro, NC ., died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. Born, Aug. 22, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI.nbsp; Graduate of Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY class of 1949. Married her loving husband, John Balfour Baer on August 1, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI.nbsp;nbsp; Phyllis and Johnnbsp; lived in Long Beach, CA., Cleveland OH., Sandy Springs, GA.nbsp; and more than 30 yearsnbsp; in Mountain Lakes New Jersey before moving to North Carolina in June 2005. In the summer months they vacationed at their home in Three Lakes WI with family and friends. Member of St. Bartholomews Episcopalnbsp; Church in Pittsboro, NCnbsp; and a lifelong member of Three Lakes Rod and Gun Club in WI.nbsp; Survivors include her husband, John of NC; sons, John (Kimbra) of Yorkville, IL and William (Gail) of Salmon, Id; daughter, Alison B. Arter of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Erin Briot, Elizabeth O. Baer and Kathryn C. Baer; sister-in-law, Anne nbsp;Baer and her children, Linda A.nbsp; (Dave Kjelstrom) Baer and Scott F. (Colleen) Baer and Johns cousin, the Right Rev. Richard W. Rowland of New Orleans, LA.nbsp; A memorial service will be held at a later date.
