Phyllis J. Lynn

Phyllis J. Lynn, 98, of Rockford passed away peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born January 24, 1918 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Russell H. & Bertha (Biessmann) Emmerson. During her life she worked as a secretary for Barber Coleman and later Greenlee Textron, retiring in 1983. Member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, going to the Stockholm Inn, most of all she loved spending time with her family. Phyllis is survived by sons; Jim (Joyce), Brad (Marilyn) and Mark Lynn, daughter Christine (Scott) Zimmerman, grandchildren; John (Carla), Laura (Mike), Jeffery, and Russell Lynn, Jose (Kimberly) Zepeda, Jason, Tim and Alicia Shelton; great grandchildren Sebastian, Nicholas, Alexis, Isella, Ava, Matthew, Kailee, Austin and Ever; sister Betty Jepsen and 1 niece and 1 nephew.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her caretakers Sandy and Kim, and her neighbors Nancy, Laura and Andrew for their care and support.
Service will be 11 a.m Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd Ave, Rockford, IL 61104. Visitation 10 a.m. to time of service at the church, Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
