Phyllis F. Hern

Phyllis F. Hern, 73, of Poplar Grove, formerly of Bensenville, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 31, 1941, in Ft. Riley, Kansas, the daughter of Willard and Elzada Childres. Phyllis married Russell Hern Jr. on September 27, 1958 in Junction City, Kansas. She worked for Sears, Yankee Doodle Hamburgers and Beeline throughout her life, retiring in 1989.
Survived by her husband, Russell; daughters, Elizabeth (Frank) Barel of Schaumburg, Jeannine (David) Price of Lakewood and Suzanne Hern of Poplar Grove; grandsons, Derek and Sean Barel, Zachary Skwarek and Shane Price; brothers, Willard (Carolyn) Childres of Kansas and John (Lynne) Childres of Florida; sister, Fran (Alan) Hug of Kansas; sisters-in-law, Carol Geldon and Marge (Jim) Brady; brother-in-law, Tim (Dorrene) Hern and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her parents, Willard Childres and Elzada and Paul Dutcher, sister, Debra Reutebusch.
Memorial visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road.
