Phonesack Thammavong

Phonesack (Pawn) Thammavong, age 46, a resident of Rockford, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24th, 2025 due to complications from gallstone pancreatitis. He was born on April 7, 1978 in Chiang Rai, Thailand to Douangkham and Panh Thammavong. 

Pawn is survived by his parents, his beloved wife, Anousone (Sone), their 3 children, Soloman (9), Axel (6), and Cassidy (4), his sisters Bouathip(Kurt Lange), Douangdeune (Jeff Samayavong), and Vanhla Thammavong. Pawn graduated from NIU with an electrical engineering degree in 2003. He was a dedicated father to his 3 children and enjoyed playing video games with them. He was someone that people can rely on when they needed a helping hand. His unwavering support encompassed not only his immediate family but also his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, assisting them with various tasks while also dedicating himself to the care of his surviving parents. 

Service will take place at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108, on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Repast will be held at the family home immediately following the funeral services at 2294 LaMar St. Rockford, IL 61108.
