Philip A. DiGiovanni, 27 of Rockford, died unexpectedly on Wed. April 29, 2009. Born Feb. 5, 1982 in Rockford, son of Vito ""Vic"" and Connie (Schlichting) DiGiovanni. Phil was a 2000 graduate of Boylan Catholic High School and went on to study computers at Robert Morris College. He recently worked at Liebovich Brothers in Rockford. In high school Phil played football for the Titan""s and is a former member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed listening to music, snow skiing, cooking, art and working on computers. He will forever be his parents beloved son and angel. Survivors include his father, Vito ""Vic"" DiGiovanni of Rockford; mother, Connie DiGiovanni of Indiana; brothers, David and Nicholas ""Nick"" DiGiovanni both of Chicago and Damon Feltz also of Chicago; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Shirley Schlichting of Rockford; special Aunts/Uncles, Robert (Pam) Schlichting of Belvidere and Tom (Barb) DiGiovanni of Rockford; special family friends, Mike (Linda) Shanley of Peoria, Jackie Jensen of Rockford;and numerous additional aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vito (Bernice) DiGiovanni. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Liebovich Brothers, he loved his job! Memorial Service Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. at 6 p.m. Visitation from 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established.
