Peter Turcato

Peter Turcato 100 of Rockford passed away August 5, 2009 in River Bluff Nursing Home. Peter was born September 8, 1908 in Rockford, he was the son of Antonio and Maria Turcato. He lived all his life in Rockford. He married Lucy "Babe" Gasparini on June 9, 1935, Babe predeceased him on April 2, 1970. He worked for Piemonte Bakery, Twin Disc, he owned 2 bars. Pete was a lifelong member of the Venetian Club, where he worked and also donated his time, he was the oldest living survivor of the Club. Survivors include his son Richard (Judy) Turcato, Five Grandchildren Nina(Karl)Covert of Michigan, Peter (Margaret)Turcato, Maria(Philip)Graciana, Kristina(Matthew)Cascio, Joshua Turcato of Maine. 8 Great Grandchildren: Jessica, Peter, Jimmy, Olivia, Dominic, Anthony, Matthew and Luke. Great great grandson Aiden. Two nieces Mary Conti and Tonia RafalskyPredeceased by his parents, his wife, Two Brothers Robert and James.A special thanks to Dr. Steve DiSanti and the staff of Blue Jay wing at River Bluff Nursing home for there kindness and compassion.In lieu of flowers memorial to be established by the family. Funeral mass will be at 10am Friday August 7, 2009 in St Bernadette Church, with Father Lopez to officiate. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
