Peter "Pete" Babcock

Peter Babcock, 62, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018. He was born October 26, 1955 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Robert Babcock and Lois (Weber) Babcock. Peter married Janelle (Forsyth) Babcock on August 25, 1990. Peter worked many years in sales. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying deer hunting and fishing. He gained great joy volunteering at his church, River Valley Community Church, as the greetings director. Pete was a true servant, also volunteering at Swedish American Heart Institute and Carpenter’s Place. He loved cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Pete was a selfless, family man who loved spending time with his family. Above all, Pete will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend.
Survived by his wife, Janelle; children, Aharon (Holly) Babcock, Dan (Lacy) Babcock, Callie (Cole) Babcock and TJ (Hayley) Babcock; grandchildren, Darie, Liam, Kennedy and expecting 2 more; mother, Lois Babcock; brother, Phillip (Stephanie) Babcock; brother-in-law, Dr. Jay (Sue) Forsyth. Predeceased by his father, Robert and sisters, Pam and Penny.
Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service Monday, January 22, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel.
