Peter A. Sardisco

September 20, 1927 — October 11, 2013

Peter A. "Pete" Sardisco, 86, of Roscoe, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born September 20, 1927, in Rockford, he was the son of Andrea and Lena (Gagliano) Sardisco. He married Nina Tortorici, February 18th, 1950. He worked many years as an automotive paint specialist. He later attended Barber School in Chicago and then worked as a barber at his father-in-law's Barber Shop at Rockford Plaza Shopping Center. He was retired from his most recent position as a Security Guard at Gunite Corporation.

Peter is survived by his wife, Nina; daughters, Linda Green of Springfield, Illinois, Diane Campbell of Lake in the Hills, Illinois and Mary Ann Kennington of Machesney Park, Illinois. Grandchildren, Erica Kloos, Mathew Kennington, Andrew Kennington and great-granddaughter, Sofia Kloos. Peter would want also to acknowledge and give special tribute to his most loyal and life-long friend Alex Las Casas of Rockford, Illinois.

Peter's greatest passion in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grand-father, who loved and adored his wife, children and grand-children and they him.
Special thanks and appreciation for the 3rd Floor Oncology Staff at Rockford Memorial (RHS). The level of attentiveness, care and compassion given to Peter was nothing less than stellar.

Visitation will be from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, followed by a Funeral Mass with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, is assisting the family.
