Peggy D. Brown

Peggy D. Brown, 68, Rockford, IL, passed away on December 25, 2021. She was born on February 27, 1953, in Paragould, AR, the daughter of Billy and Mattie (Ezell) Hicks.

Peggy married Kenneth Brown on June 19, 1971 in Rockford, IL. She was a woman of faith and a long-time member of Lincoln Wood Baptist Church. Peggy earned an Associate’s Degree and worked many years as a Medical Transcriptionist. She enjoyed feeding the birds in her yard and tending to her garden. Peggy liked to cook for her family and friends, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth; children, Jason (Kayleen) Brown and Amanda (Marcus) Schulz; grandchildren Toby and Eli and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Wells.

The family extends a special thank you to family and friends for their love and support thru calls, texts and emails.

Funeral Service at Fitzgerald Funeral Home Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 on Friday, December 31st at 5:00 p.m. with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peggy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Masks are required for any events attended.
