Paula J. Dobbs

Paula J. Dobbs, 70, passed away peacefully at OSF Hospital on February 26, 2021.

She was born December 9, 1950 in Fort Smith, AR, the daughter of David Vance and Helen (Tyler) Morris. She married Rickey G. Dobbs on May 7, 1970 in Black Rock, AR. Paula did home daycare for many years while her children were young. She then worked at Elco till she was no longer able to work. Paula loved camping, riding atv’s, watching TV, drinking diet Pepsi, looking out the front window, sitting out on the porch, flowers, spending time with her family, which she dearly loved, and keeping her family under control.

She is survived by her husband, Rickey Dobbs, of 50 wonderful years; two children Michael (Michele) Dobbs, Melenie (fiancé Josh Mayer) Dobbs. Paula loved spending time with all her grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, Tanner, Kaya, Teagan, and great-grandchildren, KJ, Lily, and Kaison. Paula has many other children that she has loved and cared for over the years. Her surviving siblings are Linda (Kenny) Lynch, Diane Morris, Karen Morris, Jeff (Kathy) Morris; in-laws, Francis Herring, Barb (Tom) Tennison, Shirley Gibson, Linda (Bill) Beller, Bonnie Woody, Phyllis (Larry) Francis; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, two siblings and many other loving family members. She will be missed by many but will live on through her family members and great memories. Walk-through visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. A time of sharing will begin at 2:00 PM. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Final resting place will be in New Milford Cemetery, Rockford, IL.
