Paul W. Dickover

Paul W. Dickover, 70, Rockford, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 6, 2012, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 28, 1942, in Buffalo, New York, the son of M. Ward and Dorothy (McCaig) Dickover. He was a 1960 graduate of New Trier High School and a 1964 graduate of Indiana University. Paul also received his Masters degree from Indiana University. He was an educator in the Rockford Public Schools for over 30 years most recently as a home school counselor. He was active in many organizations in the Rockford area including a long time member of Winnebago County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Board of Directors, the Rockford YMCA and a dedicated friend of Bill W. Survived by his sons, Brian Dickover of Union Pier, Michigan and Dan (Katie Knox) Dickover of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Cecelia, Amelia, Simon, and Elsie; sisterinlaw, Patricia Dickover of Eugene, Oregon; his friend, Mike; and his furry friend, Reggie. Predeceased by his parents, his brother, Donald Dickover, and his partner, David.There will be a visitation from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Friday, December 14, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a time of sharing at 8:00 pm.
