Paul T. Hehir, 63, of Rockford, IL passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, in Waukesha, WI where he was residing. He was born May 26, 1958, the son of Harold and Josephine (Kuchefski) Hehir. Paul attended Boylan Catholic High School where he played football, graduating in 1976. After High School Paul was the drummer in a garage band with his friends and affectionately referred to as “Goof”. He went on to work as a painter for Forest City Decorators, Schoenings and later for himself. Paul was always willing to help with a project, whether it was remodeling an apartment, cleaning gutters or helping people move. He was kind to everyone he met. When his children were young, Paul helped at Salem Lutheran Church. He was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and enjoyed cooking, playing his guitar and anything classic rock, especially The Beatles. He was also very passionate about his poetry. Paul will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Paul is survived by his children, Benjamin (Erin Shepherd) Hehir, Meghan Hehir and Joseph Hehir; grandchildren, Ireland Tschumper and Norrin Hehir; sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Bible and Christine (Kerry) Muldowney; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends from Waukesha: Sharon, Amber, Justin and Jamie, Bryan and Michelle, Bill and Donna, Vicky and the community that surrounded Paul. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Josephine; brother, Thomas Hehir.
Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park, IL. Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Masks are required by those attending. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paul’s name to the Salvation Army.
