Paul Fildes

Robert Paul Fildes passed away in Rockford on July, 18th 2020 at the age of 54.
Paul was born on September 7th, 1965 in Rapid City, SD to Ralph and Gladys Fildes. Paul graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1986. Paul is survived by his Children, Morgyn Fildes (Kole Bennett) and Josh Fildes (Mikayla Lewis), of Rockford. Along with grandchildren, JJ, Roman, and Raidyn. Paul is also survived by three brothers Allan Fischer, Dave Fischer, Tim Fildes and two sisters Julie Hodgkinson and Teresa Lowry. Paul is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Gladys and Ralph .
He worked at Zip Fastener and enjoyed both his job and his co-workers. In his free time, Paul loved hanging out with his grandson JJ. They spent their time together riding bikes, fishing and playing board games. He was an excellent cook and took pride in the meals he made. Paul loved sports and was probably the biggest Chicago Bears fan you’d ever meet. In less than a month he would be walking his daughter down the aisle, he was so excited to do that. He was a kind man who would do anything for anyone. He will be immensely missed.
A visitation is scheduled from 2-4 on Friday July 24th at Fitzgerald Funeral Home located at 1860 S. Mulford Rd Rockford IL, 61108. Masks are required and please practice social distancing. Capacity is limited to 50 people at a time. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Paul’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations and condolences can be mailed to 1424 Vassar Rd Rockford, IL 61103.
