Patricia "Pat" Marino

Patricia (Pat) Marino passed away on September 26, 2022 in her home. She was 79 years old.

Born on April 21, 1943, Pat was a strong, spirited woman and a true bright light. Those who knew her best knew that she was a friend to all, a mother to many, an impressive cook, and a prolific card player.

A true Italian Grandmother, Pat was always quick to pull up an extra chair and a plate for anyone that might stop by.

Pat enjoyed many careers throughout her life, the latest of which included working as a private investigator and a School Public Safety Officer.

Although she struggled with her health for many years, Pat had a zest for life and a stubborn nature that never allowed her to miss out on anything. Most recently, she resided at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Rockford, IL, where she had many friends. Her greatest joys in her final years included playing a hand of pinnacle with her son, Joe, and enjoying her great-grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her children, son Joseph LaRoche and wife Shannan, and daughter Crystal LaRoche Ferrero; her sister, Dolores Barone; grandchildren Michael Ferrero, Sydney LaRoche and husband Blake Brown, Marin Wallace, and Teiah Wallace; and great-grandchildren Elliot and William.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anne Lumino, and her beloved husband Dennis Marino.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 23 from 12-4 p.m. at The Clubhouse at the Villas University Center, 240 Lily Lane, Rockford Illinois.
