Patricia M. (Lynde) Tietz, 90, of Rockford died Sunday, March 19, 2017 in her home. She was born October 5, 1926 in Hazel Green, WI the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Schnorenberg) Lynde. She married the love of her life and best friend, Harold C. Tietz at St. James Catholic Church on May 3, 1945. She and Harold were partners of Tietz –Lynde Company from 1946 until their retirement in 2005. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her hobbies included eating chocolate, making ceramics, going golfing, baking Christmas cookies and fudge and fishing (at which she always seemed to do better than Harold). Note to dad, fish on the living room wall. She loved to travel the world with Harold, but she especially enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Lake Mills, WI. She was a kind and caring woman with an open heart and robust sense of humor, she will be missed dearly by all. The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to The MD Unit at Swedish American, Northern Illinois Hospice and Home Instead. The family also wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the loving devotion of Patty’s niece Kathleen (Layng) Greenberg and her husband Barry and Ray Zadeh and Ana Ayala, whose love and support has been constant and unwavering.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Sherri) Tietz, Greg (Linda) Tietz, Carla Tietz and Mark Tietz; grandsons, Brandon Tietz and Brent Tietz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 14, 2014 and all of her siblings.
Funeral Mass Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation Friday, March 24, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary service to be recited at 8 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday at church from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family so they can be divided between her favorite charities Harlem Roscoe Fire Dept., Anam Care and Northern Illinois Hospice.
