Patricia L. Hutson-Hiatt

Patricia L. Hutson-Hiatt, 90, Rockford, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023, in JourneyCare Hospice Care Center in Barrington. Born July 25, 1932, in Elgin, daughter of Harold and Louise Emerich Lyle. Patti was a member of the first graduating class of Barrington High School. She was employed for 35 years by Shakeproof Division of ITW in accounts payable and as a keypunch operator. Married William L. Hiatt in Rochester, IN on December 8, 1995.

Patti had a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh and smile. Anyone who knew her always felt her smile was meant exclusively for them as well as her exuberance and tenderness. You could always watch her eyes glow with love and pride when she would look at her children. She instilled patience, tolerance, kindliness, and love in her children and taught them that the virtues of character is who you are when nobody’s looking.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Craig Hutson, Timothy (Paula) Hutson, Kimberly Hutson and Bruce (Lori) Hutson; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She also received great love and comfort from her kitty, Rocky. Predeceased by her parents, daughter, Julie Rene, son, Herbert Victor, sisters, Joyce and Jean and brother Jimmy.

A time of visitation to honor Patti will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
