Patricia Ann ""Pat"" Gillespie, 88, of Rockford, passed away at 7:08 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007 at Asta Care Center. Born January 7, 1919 in Fargo, ND; the daughter of Harry & Edna (Searles) Oram. Married Arthur Wallace ""Wally"" Gillespie in Fargo on April 5, 1940, he predeceased her on October 29, 1992. She attended Fargo High School, and received her bachelors degree from University of Illinois in Champaign. Pat was a realtor at Whitehead Realtors for many years; she was the first female to sell $1,000,000 in Real Estate in the Rockford area. She was also a kindergarten teacher at Keith Country Day School and Garrison Elementary School. While world traveling, she often taught English to the local people. Pat belonged to many organizations, including Rockford Country Club, Chapter ET and V of PEO, and was a national officer of Gamma Phi Beta. She was a participant of the University Club and was a member of Emmanuel Epsicopal Church. Pat also enjoyed the winters she spent in Fort Myers Beach, FL. Survivors include her daughters: Judith Wright of California and Jane (Randy) Warner of Rockford; niece, Lisa Wright; nephew, David (Deidad) Wright; sister, Emily Jackson; niece, Penny Paulson; her two AFS daughters, Marianne Hacquebard of Belgium and Elizabeth (Morrison) Oelrich of South Africa. Also predeceased by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Reverend Pamela Miller officiating. Private burial in Emmanuel Episcopal Garden of the Resurrection. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
